We specialise in providing a tailored destruction service that allows businesses to comply with Data Protection legislation and helps to ensure that client, employee and confidential business information is kept secure at all times. Through our strict chain-of-custody processes, hand held technology and reliable on-time, on-site and off-site shredding service and a global network of local service centres, we can provide our secure destruction services for paper, media materials such as DVD’s, CD’s, tapes, uniforms and hard drives on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
The technical and organisational security measures that we apply when dealing with confidential business information are explained in detail in our Security Information document.

These measures are an important part of our commitment to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant Data Protection legislation when handling our customers’ confidential information. We review them regularly and continue to explore new technologies and processes to provide the optimal balance of security and efficiency to our customers.
Confidential information destruction can involve types of data processing which are regulated by GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We provide a consistent service based on our unique Security Measures, so we have a standard Data Processing Schedule (Schedule) which forms part of our customer contracts and sets out the basis on which Shred-it provides its services and, where relevant, processes data on behalf of a customer. We have thousands of customers so we are unable to sign each customer’s data processing agreement. Instead, we ask all of our customers to review our Security Measures and our DPA, and these documents form part of our contractual commitment to our customers.
