What type of materials can be disposed of by Shred-it?

Most colours, weights and grades of paper can be shredded and recycled. Please ensure our white bags only contain the following:

  • Confidential documents
  • Coloured paper
  • Envelopes
  • Expandable files
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Staples and paper clips are also ok to include.

What type of paper materials cannot be disposed of by Shred-it and should not be included in our white bags?

  • Batteries
  • Sharp objects
  • Ink cartridges
  • Large metal objects
  • Food, glass, cans etc.
  • Pressurised containers
  • Cardboard tubes
  • Syringes
  • Electrical items and telephones
